The film *Tom Horn*, based on a true story, tells the tale of a cattle rancher named Tom Horn, portrayed by Steve McQueen. Tom Horn's hat is a variation of the bullfighter's hat. The brim curves downwards, especially at the back, and is 4 1/4 inches wide. Note its similarity to the Quigley hat, but upon closer inspection, you'll find some subtle differences. The pleats at the crown are lower, the side pleats are further back, and the aforementioned brim width is 4 1/4 inches, while the Quigley hat's brim width is 4 1/2 inches. This hat suited Steve McQueen perfectly and was authentic around 1900.
